ABOUT US

Our Philosophy
We believe that teaching children how to be thoughtful, respectful, and creative are some of the most important things we can do as role models. By interweaving themes of teamwork, communication, and imaginary play throughout our classes, we strive to help nurture a more conscious and creative generation of kids.

Mama & Me recognizes the importance of all parenting roles and family structures, which is why we welcome all moms, dads, grandparents, caregivers, and other extended family members to participate in our classes with their little ones.

OUR STUDIO

Going Green
Mama & Me has made a commitment towards becoming a sustainable business leader, and is currently in the process of certification. We made a conscientious choice to go green with our studio design by installing a floating cork flooring and using no VOC paint throughout. These design elements contribute to a healthier, more hypoallergenic, indoor air quality for our families and little ones.

Additionally we print our brochures on recycled paper, with veg/soy based inks and use recycled paper products whenever possible. We've installed a 16 foot plexi-glass wall, to reduce the amount of paper used in our art classes.

Shoe-Free
We are a shoe-free studio! We would like to keep our environment as clean and sanitary as possible for the little ones. As you enter our studio, please slip off your shoes and leave them in our mud room, immediately as you enter on the right. We recommend that your child wear some type of rubber soled sock or slipper during class for traction.

Snack Policy
Due to the number of children with food allergies, we ask that you please refrain from providing snacks to your child within our studio. Instead we recommend that you visit one of the lovely places to eat downstairs (ULA Cafe or Bella Luna).

OUR CLASSES

Arrival/Departure
We ask that you arrive no sooner than 10 minutes before your scheduled class, and leave no later than 10 minutes after your class has finished. This ensures that our teachers have adequate time to prepare for classes and clean up afterward. We host open play times (creative playspace) throughout the week for those who wish to come and play and enjoy our space.

Art Classes & Paint
We use washable and non-toxic paint for all of our art classes at Mama & Me. However, depending on the color and fabric of your clothing, the paint may not wash out entirely. As a precaution we advise both parents and children attending our art classes to wear old, dark colored clothing as our paint may stain.

Parent Participation
Parent participation is a crucial part of enhancing your child's learning experience in our classes. During class, we ask that you focus on supporting your child and engaging in the class activities. We ask that you limit your adult conversations within class and save longer conversations until after your class has finished.
