Whether you are preparing for childbirth and your baby's arrival, or you have recently given birth,  you may also have concerns about your baby's safety. Our Safety in the 1st Year class will give you the skills and information to help keep your little one safe during his or her first year.  

You may be interested in this class if:

  • You are a new or expectant parent interested in learning infant CPR, choking, and safety tips
  • You are the parent of an infant and are interested in learning infant CPR, first aid, and safety skills 
  • You are a babysitter or caregiver of an infant
  • You want a class that is solely focused on infant safety

This class follows the guide of the American Heart Association's Friends and Family course and includes a detailed and thorough demonstration of infant CPR and choking relief techniques. Additionally this course covers a range of safety topics, including injury prevention with best practices from the American Academy of Pediatrics, Centers for Disease Control, Safe Kids Coalition, American Red Cross and the American Heart Association. Non-mobile babies are welcome to attend class. 

Registration Details:

This is a non-certifying course geared towards expectant parents, new parents, and infant caregivers.  This class does fill in advance, please sign up with plenty of time before class is scheduled.

Cost:  $100/individual or couple (shared mannequin)
