Sensory Table Fun! (1-3 years)
This hands-on, experiential class will introduce your child to a
variety of materials through sensory based activities. Here your
little one will be able to explore the textures of painted noodles,
slime, homemade play-dough, drizzle goo, and play with water,
moon sand, dirt, and other natural materials. Through open
exploration and play, children will benefit from the visual, tactile,
and sensory stimulation provided. This class will help develop fine
motor skills and will appeal to your child's sense curiosity while they
engage in new experiences! Additionally parents and caregivers will
be introduced to new and exciting ways to create sensory-based
learning environments that encourage their children's learning and
development at home.

Laura returns to Mama & Me, bringing her extensive experience in the
intersection of art, creativity, and parenting. Combining her background in the
visual arts with her passion for early childhood, she has been teaching her own
Reggio Emilia-inspired clayworking and painting classes to toddlers for the past
two years around the Boston area. Laura recently started her own home-based
Creative Roots Preschool Enrichment Program focused on nature, arts and
creativity, spending mornings walking in the woods and creating large-scale art
experiences with a small group of 3 year olds. Her experiences as a mother to
an active 3 year old have offered her new ways to appreciate the complexities
and beauty in raising young children. Laura is dedicated to finding creative
approaches to parenting and exploring the innate curiosity of young minds. She
is currently finishing her Master's in Interdisciplinary Studies from Lesley
University this fall focusing on Early Childhood Development and Reggio Emilia
programs. She also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Art Institute of
Boston. Check out her blog for posts and information on Reggio-inspired
art-making for the creative child.
