Pregnancy can be an wonderful time to start journaling. This course guides you through the steps to create your own unique, hand-made journal and provides a welcoming space to connect with others as you begin to reflect on your own personal journey to motherhood. Through gentle movement, singing and writing exercises you will begin to reflect on your pregnancy and continue to strengthen the bond with your baby. This course serves as a nice complement to other informational courses during pregnancy as it focuses on personal creative expression and allows you to become more aware of what you and your growing baby need during this incredible transition.
Kelsey is a multi-modal arts facilitator of all ages, beliefs and backgrounds. Her focus is providing women, mothers, and children from birth to 3 years the opportunity to express themselves through voice, movement, and visual art. Kelsey has co-taught Creative Exploration art classes for toddlers at Isis Maternity, worked at Creatoyvity and is currently assisting Lesley Professor Young Song with research, the Lesley Environmental Arts and Education Website (www.lesleyecoart.com), and environmental arts workshops. Kelsey has studied many different forms of dance, including West African, Salsa, and Modern. Kelsey published her first book of poetry, "Late At Night When I Should Be Sleeping," in 2009. Her artwork has been featured in the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association Newsletter and in the Atrium Gallery at Lesley University. Kelsey graduated Summa Cum Laude from CU Boulder's Creative Writing department in 2007. Her honors thesis, "Voices Carrying Weight, Community in Creation: An Exploration of Cross-Cultural and Cross-Generational sharing," included women of all ages from Ghana, Ridgway, CO and Boulder, CO. Kelsey also has a background in Expressive Arts Therapy and is now completing her Masters in Arts, Community and Education at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA.
